|
To ensure the candidate is competent in the safe handling of an agricultural tractor.

Who is the Course for
|
Anybody operating an agricultural tractor and needs to prove competence in the handling of these potentially dangerous machines. This can include agriculture, horticulture, equine, utility companies, forestry, amenity etc.

Course Content
|
- Legal and statutory legislation related to agricultural tractors
- Pre-start checks and routine maintenance
- Recognise instrument readings and operate all the controls
- Inspect vehicle and comment on serviceability
- Operate the machine with:-
- Heavily loaded trailers - Mounted implements - Up Down and across slopes - Handle on rough terrain - Hitch to a trailer and three point linkage - Safe attachment and use of P.T.O. Trailer reversing
- Optional Loader Operation
Load and unload safely with a loader Manoeuvre in a confined space Operate at different working heights What to bring
- Overalls, rigger gloves and appropriate outdoor clothing for the weather
