Aims of the Course
|
To ensure the candidate is competent in the safe handling of pesticides and operation of a knapsack sprayer.
|

Who is the Course for
|
It is a legal requirement for any persons applying pesticides on a commercial basis to be qualified. This course will provide the skills and knowledge for the PA 6 Knapsack Sprayer certificate. BEFORE completion of this the candidate will need to complete the foundation module PA1 to gain the full qualification.

Course Content
|
- Legal and statutory legislation related to pesticide applications with a Knapsack Sprayer
- Preparing sprayer for work
- Risk assessments of the machine and the site
- Recognise and operate all the controls
- Inspect knapsack and comment on serviceability
- Interoperate product label
- Calibrate sprayer
- Operate the knapsack on site:-
- Prepare simulated concentrated chemical - Fill sprayer - Accurately apply simulated chemical in a field situation
- Post operation expectations and reporting defects
- Complete application records

Calculator, familiar product label (If you have one), pen and notepaper, spray suit, nitrile gloves, face visor, wellington boots and apron.
