Aims

To provide safety representatives knowledge and understanding of supporting trenches and shafts enabling them to manage relevant legislation.

Course Content

• Natural Strata - soils and angle of responce, weathering.
• Satutory Regulations - Inspections, reports, permits, H&S etc.
• Principles of support to Shallow & Medium trenches and shafts in firm, moderately firm and loose ground.
• Striking and Backfilling.

 Course Method

This course is delivered using a high proportion of practical exercises supported by classroom theory and exercises.
