Training Method

Classroom based delivery with written practical exercise.  Assessment is a multiple choice questions answered on a computer.

Aims of the Course

To ensure the candidate is competent in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671:January 2008).

Who is the Course for

The full qualification is for those involved, or intending to be involved, with electrical installations and have not received a formal qualification in the Requirements for Electrical Installations since 2001.

Course Content

• Understand the scope object and fundamental principals of the 17th Edition
• Knowledge and understanding of the essential definitions
• Knowledge and understanding required to assess the general characteristics of the
  energy source or supply, and the installation
• Knowledge and understanding of protection for safety of electrical installations
• Knowledge and understanding of selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations
• Knowledge and understanding of inspection and testing and reporting for electrical installations
• Knowledge and understanding of special installations or locations and their requirements for electrical installations
• Understanding of the relevant appendices of the BS 7671:2008

• A personal copy of publication ‘Requirements for Electrical Installations, IEE Wiring Regulations Seventeenth Edition (BS7671:2008)’ (ISBN 978-0-86341-844-0)
