This six week evening class in photography is aimed at beginners who want a jargon free, practical, human guide to digital photography.
You will learn how to set your camera up manually for creative effect or consistent exposure, compose your subject, think creatively, improve your images in Photoshop and help you constructively critique your own work.
Course Content
1 Camera functions, controls and manual set up
2 Composition, lens choice, rules & breaking rules
3 Creative use of Depth of Field
4 Creative Exposures using different Shutter Speed & Apertures
5 Use of Colour, Texture and Design
6 Use of Flash and effects
PLUS each week we will Introduce Adobe Photoshop Elements for exposure corrections, straighten horizons, cropping, cloning, work flow & storage etc.
PLUS practical exercises each week to practice what you have learned. Start each week discussing what was easy, difficult or surprising.
The above content will be related back to landscape and portrait photography.
